Since many fruits and vegetables do not contain a lot of iron, you might have to take a vitamin supplement. Taking a vitamin supplement will not only supply you with the amount of iron you need, it can also provide your body with other healthy vitamins and minerals.
Keep Track of Your Calories
While it is important to ensure you are getting all of the vitamins and nutrients that you need, you should still keep track of your calories. Once you start tracking your calories it will become easier over time. You will start to get a better understanding how many calories most food contains.
Also, you should try to consume fewer calories than you can burn throughout the day. For most people, this is around 2000 calories. While you are limiting your calories, you still need a proper amount of nutrition.
